Hey all.  If anyone checks this out, I'd love a little help/advice!

tl;dr
What software/hardware do you use to draw?

--------------------------------------------------------------------

So I'm trying to get back into drawing.  I NEED to get back into it.  Even if I'm not fantastic, it's my center.  Work is putting me through a daily anxiety attack that is equivalent to the Battle of Yavin in Star Wars (except I'm the Empire).  I've been doodling alot and becoming mildy satisfied with the outcomes, but  I want to take things to the next step and go beyond pencil and paper.  However, I'm struggling to get started.  I have a WACOM Manga tablet, but the disconnect from hand to screen is really bothering, so I think I may need a CINTIQ, or other screened drawing tablet.
What are you guys using?  Is Paint Tool Sai good, or are there better programs out there?

Thanks.  A TON.

I'm sure the internet is flooded with artwork of her, but Zelda has always been probably my absolute favorite game.  Therefor, I couldn't resist the urge to doodle Link's "little sister".

Hello there! May I have your permission to share your Midna artwork on my Midna fan blog on Tumblr? Proper credit and a link back will be given, of course! No worries if not :meow:

Also, I read your journal: I've been suing Photoshop for ten years and totally recommend it! If you can't afford it, GIMP is the free equivalent; I haven't used it myself but I've heard good things about it.

Thank you :D

Yes, of course you can share!  Thank you for the kind words and interest! =3

I have an older version of Photoshop (CS5 or 6, I think), but never really tried to apply it to coloring.  I'll have to play with it a bit.  Thanks for the advice!

Thank you very much!

And if you're talking old, CS5 and 6 are actually some of the newer versions :XD: I use CS5 myself, although I've also used 7, CS, CS2 and CS3 and they've all been great (though obviously the newer versions were much improved compared to the others.)

Good luck on your Photoshopping adventures, friend! :la:
