Protoman and Roll- Katsu17 by whiskers Protoman and Roll- Katsu17 by whiskers
Protoman and Roll - Megaman Franchise
Protoman 100% hand made by me. Drafted the pattern for the suit, cut, painted, assembled the helmet, arms and legs. Shield is fiberglassed and heavier than hell XD Arm cannon lights up =D
Roll is done by my BFF Leigh.

I'm sure you've gotten this question a million times, but how did you make the shield? Also, great costume, the both of you.

The shield is chicken wire base with fiberglass over top.  I used a set of welding goggles for the little window, and there's a handle on the inside made for a shed door.
I do have to say though, it's EXTREMELY heavy.  Atleast 20 lbs (which doesn't sound like a lot until you carry it around all day.  At least I could put it on my back. XD

Thank you very much!!

Where'd you get the glasses from and how did you attatch them? I'm curious, since my boyfriend really wants to cosplay as protoman next year.

The "glasses" are a tinted motorcycle visor I bought off ebay. I cut it, shaped it with a dremmel and attached it to the inside of the helmet with E2000 glue.

Wow thank you for the help! I also was wondering, where did you buy the motorcycle helmet and what spray paint did you use? :) I appreciate your tips.

It's actually a "motorcross" style helmet, with the mouth piece chopped off.
I got the visor and helmet off of ebay. I think total was like $40.
As for paint, I believe I used Krylon acrylic. It's been a while, but that sounds right.

It's actually a modified Motocross helmet, with a motorcycle visor that I cut and attached for the 'glasses'
